Introduction
The purpose of the website, www.britisholympians.com, (“the Site”), is to provide
you with information about athletes who have competed on behalf of Great Britain
and Northern Ireland at an Olympic Games (“the British Olympians”), and opportunities
for you to work with them, together with other related activities and projects.
The Site, and the British Olympians project, is owned and operated by the British
Olympic Association (“the BOA”) whose registered address is 1 Wandsworth Plain,
London, SW18 1EH. References to “we”, “us” and “our” should be construed as references
to the BOA.
1. Using our website
You may use the Site subject to the Terms and Conditions set out on this page. The
BOA reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time without
notice. Access and use by you of the Site constitutes acceptance by you of the Terms
and Conditions in force at the time of use.
2. Amendments
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any changes will
be notified via a suitable announcement on this Site. The changes will apply to
the use of the Site after we have given notice. Your continuing use of the Site
following such notice indicates your agreement to be bound by the new Terms and
Conditions.
3. Use of information contained on this Site
This Site contains a library of personal information relating to the British Olympic
Athletes. You may only use that information for the express purpose of assessing
whether you wish to engage any British Olympian to work with you (“the Permitted
Purpose”).
Under no circumstances may you attempt to contact the British Olympian directly.
Any contact with a British Olympian shall be made via the BOA. To do so you
may either telephone the BOA on the number indicated on the Site, or email the BOA
at the address provided on the Site.
The BOA shall have the unrestricted right to pass on your request to the British
Olympian concerned or to choose not to do so. Under no circumstances shall
the BOA be held responsible for any loss incurred by you, including any direct,
indirect or consequential loss or damage (including, without limit, loss of profit,
business revenue or opportunity or anticipated savings), as a result of its failure
to forward your request to a British Olympian.
4. Copyright and Intellectual Property
The materials and content contained within the Site are protected by copyright,
trade marks, database and other intellectual property rights and are the proprietary
material of the BOA and/or third parties associated with it. Except where it is
otherwise indicated as acceptable on this Site, you may not reproduce, modify, copy,
make available or distribute or otherwise use any of the materials or content on
this Site without written permission from the owner of the relevant intellectual
property rights. Any use made of such materials or content may be an infringement
of rights in those materials and the BOA reserves all rights to enforce such rights.
You may read, view, print, download and (where appropriate) listen to the contents
of an individual page for the Permitted Purpose only, provided that all copyright,
trademark and other proprietary notices contained in the original materials on any
copy of these materials is retained, but you may not make more than one copy electronically
or otherwise of any of the contents and you may not recopy or further distribute,
sell, publish or transmit any part of the material by electronic or any other means.
You agree not to sell, resell, supply or otherwise make the content contained on
the Site or extracts or other information derived there from available in any manner
or on any media to any third party without the prior written consent of the BOA.
You may not include the content contained on the Site, or any links to the content,
within any compilation or database of information (whether online, electronic or
manually stored) without the prior written consent of the BOA.

5. Linking Policy
While the BOA encourages users to establish hypertext links to the home page of
the Site, under no circumstances may you establish any link to any individual page
of the Site that contains information about a British Olympian.
6. Disclaimer
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the material included on this
Site, it is provided for information purposes only, without any representation or
endorsements made and without warranty of any kind whether express or implied, and
it does not constitute professional or legal advice. The information included on
the Site does not constitute any form of advice or recommendation.
The information included on the Site has been included in good faith and is intended
only for your general information. You are responsible for checking the accuracy
of relevant facts and opinions given on the Site before entering into any commitment
based upon them.

- for the posting, uploading, emailing or other transmission of any material that

to interrupt, restrict, destroy, limit the functionality of or compromise the integrity
of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment;
- to create a database (electronic or otherwise) that includes content contained within
the Site;
- to transmit or re-circulate any such content to any third party, including the British
Olympians;
- in such a way so as to remove the copyright or trade mark notice(s) from any copies
of any content or documents made in accordance with these terms; or
- in any way that might bring the BOA, or the British Olympians, into disrepute.
We may at our option, but without the obligation to do so, monitor communications
transmitted via this Site and remove any unlawful or offensive material.
You will indemnify us against all losses, liabilities, costs and expenses reasonably
suffered or incurred by us as a result of breach by you of these Terms and Conditions
or any applicable law.
8. Advertising and Sponsorship
Part of this Site may contain advertising and sponsorship. Advertisers and sponsors
are responsible for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion on this Site
complies with relevant laws and codes. We will not be responsible for any error
or inaccuracy in advertising and sponsorship material.
9. Competitions and Prizes
From time to time the BOA may run competitions, free prize draws and promotions
on the Site. In each case these will be subject to additional competition terms
which will be made available on the site.
10. Laws of England and Wales
The laws of England and Wales apply to the content within this Site and govern the
terms and conditions of this Site.
11. Privacy Policy
The information that you provide about yourself to the BOA will only be used by
the BOA in accordance with its privacy policy and by using
this Site you consent to use our data collected on the Site in the manner set out
in the privacy policy.

12. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court
having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision will not affect
the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall
remain in full force and effect.
Failure by either party to exercise any right or remedy under these terms does not
constitute a waiver of that right or remedy. Headings in these terms are for convenience
only and will have no legal meaning or effect.
The BOA shall not be responsible for any breach of these Terms and Conditions caused
by circumstances beyond its control.
