Darren Campbell has over 21 medals to his name, including Olympic Gold & Silver, Commonwealth Bronze and World Championship Bronze. Coming from a background that many people would perceive as disadvantaged, Darren is passionate about motivating people to achieve their goals in life against all odds.

Darren made his debut on the senior international circuit at the age of 18 as a member of the 4 x 100 metre squad for the Stuttgart World Championships in 1993. Darren spent the winter training in Australia with Linford Christie and Colin Jackson. His full introduction to senior international athletics followed but was unfortunately interrupted by injury.
He made his breakthrough on the World circuit a couple of years later, running a personal best time of 10.17 at the end of May 96. Following a disappointing performance at the Olympic Trials Darren Campbell missed out on an individual place in the 100m. His misfortune continued in Atlanta where the baton was dropped in the relay before it reached him. However due to his consistent times, Darren earned a place in the Grand Prix Final in Milan, the only European in the line up. Darren's fortunes further improved when he was selected for the Olympic Games in Sydney and excelled in the 200m winning a Silver medal.
In 2004 Darren Campbell made history as part of the 4 x 100 metre relay team that took victory over the Americans for gold at the Olympic Games in Athens. He also won Gold at the European Championships in 2006 as part of the relay team. In August 2006 Darren Campbell announced his retirement from athletics.
