Laura Baldwin competed in the Europe Class at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. Since then she has gone on to compete in various competitions and has used her experience to talk to youngsters about the highs and lows of competitive sailing.
SPORTS BIOLearning the basics of sailboat racing on holiday aged 18, Laura realised that this could become so much more for her than a hobby. On attending university at Southampton Laura joined the sailing team and by her second year she was part of the Ladies 1st Team Raching Team and then went onto become Ladies Captain.Laura Baldwin's desire to race and compete at a top level continued and she became part of the UK Team Race Development Squad where she got the opportunity to develop her skills and test herself against some of the top sailors. She began competing internationally in 2001 and took part in her first Europe World Championships in 2002.
