A renowed international competitor who is a dynamic and confident team player with the proven drive and 'joie de vivre' to achieve within the high pressure environment of both sport and business.SPORT BIOIn her 16 year career Kate Allenby has been one of the leading and most charismatic pentathletes in the world. She has won over 50 national and international medals, across different sports, achieving over half at major championships.She has long been at the forefront of modern pentathlon, winning two junior World Championship medals, the 1997 European title and the 1998 World Cup. There is little doubt about Kate's determination and courage having won a World Junior medal only two days after having been treated for serious burns.At the Commonwealth Games in 2000 she won the individual bronze and team bronze in fencing. However her finest moment came at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 when despite a msucle tear in her shoulder she battled through to take the bronze medal in the modern pentathlon event. Since then Kate has gone on to win the silver medal in fencing at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Kate retired from modern pentathlon in 2004 after winning the World Cup for a second time after competing in the Olympic Games in Athens.She now specialises in fencing and in 2005 she became the national champion in fencing. Kate combines training with her work as a teacher and a modern pentathlon coach and her aim is to compete in London 2012SPECIALIST AREASKate's knowledge and understanding about the demands of elite performance has meant that she has been heavily involved in demand for her services. In 1997 she was elected a member of the British Olympic Association Athletes Commission and in 2003 she was elected Chair.Kate has gone on to develop her career as a public speaker in which she has become known for her lively and entertaining speeches on a number of topics. Her topics include motivation, fear, team building, stress management and success as a journey not a destination.Kate's engaging style has meant that she reaches right across the spectrum from talking to primary children through to the CEO. Her aim is to challenge people to think and work in a way to maximise their abilities throughout their lives.
