Campbell Walsh captured a silver medal for Great Britain in the men's K1 at the Olympic Games in Athens and is looking to go one better in Beijing 2008. SPORT BIOCampbell Walsh first started canoeing at the age of eight and three years later he had taken part in his first race. He continued with canoeing throughout his school and university days and now lives and trains in Nottingham and has a string of titles to his name.He became World Cup Champion in 2004 and is 5 times World Cup medallist and British Champion. Campbell Walsh has been part of the BOA Planning for Success course for 2006 and has presented on 3 courses receiving excellent feedback. He has spoken at a number of conferences and exhibitions outlining what life is like as a full time athlete, the highs and lows and what it is like to compete at an Olympic Games.
Walsh is a 'Sporting Embassador' for the East Midlands and regularly attends sport related conferences and has done speaking roles at these and also organised discussion groups.He has had dealings with the media on a number of occasions and has been interviewed for feature articles in national newspapers and topical magazines.Campbell has also done a number of photo shoots for magazines.
